Live report: 27th March 2011, PETER BRODERICK(US) at Gaîté Lyrique, Paris

Peter Broderick(US) at Gaîté Lyrique, Paris

Peter Broderick(US)
It was the second Ambient Sunday at Gaîté Lyrique on that Sunday afternoon, but the first one with a concert. I can’t tell you how many there were people in the audience, probably at least 50 people, most of them sat on the floor at the "foyer historique" on the 2nd floor. It took place in a very relaxed atmosphere. The sound there was perfect. Peter played most of his songs from his 2010 LP “How They Are” alone on guitar, piano, violin, tambourine and music saw. He also played a piano song called “It’s A Storm When I Sleep” to support Japan after the recent big earthquake. (You could find it on his last collaboration with a Japanese musician called Takumi Uesaka on the release “Glimmer”, now out in Japan.) On “The Book She Wrote and In The Time" (live at Autumn Falls http://youtu.be/jsheeSlrKMY), he came into the audience with his violin. He was absolutely brilliant, as usual. Excellent set and great audience. Everybody asked for an encore. And he did two encore and wasn’t prepared to do the second one: the first one with two songs, and the second one with one song. One of the encore was “Not At Home”.

The set included the following songs:
With The Notes in My Ears
Below It
Pop’s Song (his father’s song)
Human Eyeballs on Toast
The Book She Wrote and In The Time
It’s A Storm When I Sleep
When I’m Gone
With A Key

The last time I saw him was at Flèche d'Or. Review.
